HOW TO STOP SINNING I hope you all are ready for the truth, maybe you should sit down, relax and take off your shoes. The answer is simple; stop trying to stop sinning, it is hopeless. There has never been a man without sin accept Jesus. If mankind could stop himself from sinning then Jesus Christ wasted his time. Jesus primary goal in coming to earth was to bring mankind back into a sin free relationship with God. Jesus understood that a man filled with the knowledge of his Father could not be mastered by sin, or anything on earth. What is sin? First let me say that sin is not smoking a cigarette or stealing when you have no choice. Example: Suppose you and your family was starving, and the only way to survive is to steal a chicken from the chicken farm next door. Would you allow your family to starve that you may uphold the commandment that says, "Thou shall not steal." No, most of us would steal, but there are a few confused enough to think God would have them die rather than steal food. Why would a God of Love want His children to starve to death? Would not your earthly father forgive you for such an act? Well surely God has forgiven us more. So we see sin is not breaking the Ten Commandment, which is law, but deciding to go against the truth that God is the Father, and every man is a brother that causes us to sin against each other.This is precisely why Jesus told the religious teachers that the greatest commandments were, love God with all your heart, mind, and soul, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. This my sisters and brothers are the way to STOP sinning! How many people have you hurt, that you loved? It is impossible to hurt someone you love, which is precisely the point Jesus was making by the above statements. You cannot disrespect God as your Father, and you cannot harm mankind as your brother, once you have come into this knowledge, wars will cease. Now I am not talking about putting your head in a hole and letting the world evolve around you. I would not advise showering God’s love on those unbeliever. But, I am talking about a change in heart, where you see your fellowman as a brother, and you begin elevating your heart to a level were it can hear the gentle voice of love echoing, "Forgive them, for they know not what they do," you will be closer to perfection than you think. It is important that we began to share the love that has been given to every mankind, originally, by the Father; and stop trying to quit sinning. From personal experience I never stopped sinning as long as I thought about not sinning, and I sinned more. But, when I fell in love with God and began to understand that he was my Father, and the Father of all mankind, sin began to loosen it grip, and slowly my appetite changed. Things that once meant so much to me began to loose their luster. I began to hungry to know more about the Father-God concept. The more I learned about the love of God and why he created me (Dr. Miles Monroe, series on mankind’s God given purpose), the more I loved giving than receiving. The desire to give comes from the Spirit of God that dwells within each person. Looking at all the great men through the centuries, we find they were known as givers, they spent little though about their lives, in comparison with the betterment of mankind. They were guided by the same Spirit, because the Spirit of Love gives only good guidance. So, before I go farther, let us understand that falling in love with the heavenly Father is the beginning of mastering sin. The second way of overcoming sin is to start being thankful. Yes, I said thankful. A single breath is enough to be thankful for the rest of your life. If you got up and walked away from your bed, that's something to be thankful for. These two basic acts that we take for granted are enough to give thanks for the remaining of the day. Yet, we find many Christians complaining just as often as nonchristians, over a rainy day. Why? Because few know of the disrespect and injustice done to our Heavenly Father, because we waste precious moments complaining instead of giving thanks. Ok, someone just took off the side of your new BMW, are you telling me you will praise God, instead of getting upset? No. I am saying I could very well get upset when the accident happens, but soon after, I will find something to be thankful for. That’s why it is important to start praising God the Father the moment you become conscience. Don’t allow bad thoughts or any thoughts to rob you of the desire to praise. There are so many things and moments to be thankful for, that it is impossible to stay negative. When we learn to give praise, we will accomplish God’s purpose for mankind, on earth. A person who gives praises find little to no time to fight. They are above that emotional level which causes mankind to destroy. They know the real purpose for all man. When we look at great men like Jesus, Buddha, Ghandi, Mohammed, and many others, we noticed how humble they were. They had no problem with sinning because sin was below the brotherhood of mankind, and their purpose was to elevate mankind to where he could continually hear the voice of love. If we knew the guide-lines the prophets gave we would be free from sin, but one look, and we see how much brotherly love fails. If we would challenge ourselves to praise God, continually, sin would lose its power. The scriptures reveal to mankind that he can come to the true God of Love, just as he is, with a heart full of love, and all his sins will eventually be washed away. Remember only those who truly want to know love will be washed, so it is up to each individual to allow love to master them, instead of sin.
