GOD USES MANKIND IN SPITE OF OURSELVES I don’t know about you but I used to think certain people had a special hotline to God. These pretenders were cashing in on selling people the idea of being holier than thou. They carry themselves in a certain way, they dress in a certain way, they look at you in a certain way, they speak a certain way, and they all sit in a certain place in church, usually up front. Looking at these holy people I determined to be like them I mean if they could have a special place with God, then so could I. I determined to go alone with the crowd cause I wanted their acceptance. I started acting like I had it all together, copying their ways. Within my life was a mess. Hurting others was no big deal. I knew hurt, so that was all I could give. I figured as long as I acted holy no one would ever know. My smile was really a frown because I was hurt ing so bad. I was always in church but I had no love inside of me. I was afraid to really get know God because I felt he would punish me. When we really see what the Bible means by useing men with multiple shortcomings we began to see God useing mankind in spite of themselves. Starting with Moses we see a murderer then a prophet. Abraham an adulterer and liar, then a prophet. David a liar, adulterer, murderer, then a psalmist. Now I asked the Holy Spirit why didn’t He just use perfect men This is what I got. If These men were perfect in all their ways, then mankind would feel obligated to try and live perfect in the flesh. Seeing common men, with common shortcomings, become great, show their dependency on God.´ We have made a great mistake in teaching people to attempt to perfect their ways, or purify their bodies. Perfecting the body or living a so-called holy life does not produce holiness. Holiness only comes when we fall in love with God. No amount of rules or regulations can cause us to love one another. Love can only come from those who have been touched with love. And only those who truely desire to have love will receive it. God does not hold love back from mankind. Men without love chose not to have it. Once we receive the Spirit’s guidance our minds will slowly start transforming, we will reach out to others with a helping hand. Our bodies will be so infused with love because of the word of God flowing in it, that our desire will be to love everyone we meet. The word of God says, if a man loves Jesus he will keep His commandments. It DID NOT say, trying to live Holy will make you love Jesus. Just the opposite, it is only when we fall in love with the Master will we keep His commandments, and keeping His commandment will be a pleasure. When we really fall in love with Jesus, keeping God’s commandment will become a lifestyle. Only after we fall in love will we become a light to the world. And all men will becom our brother. Remember a life filled with the love of God overrides all other desires, and though we are not perfect in the flesh yet, we are on the right track.
