| FIGHTING WITH THE DEVIL IS UNGODLY I would like to show you just how wrong it is to stay in a battle with a defeated foe. When we think about, Who would engage in a fight with a dead person? No one. Yet, we see and hear Christian always talking about fighting with the devil. Well Jesus said he was defeated. So my fellow Christian friends, Why are we fighting? Jesus also gave us the answer when He said my people are destroyed because they don´t know God´s word. Because we have learned a certain way to serve God, we are lacking in the Spiritual power needed to have an abundant life. Most so-called Christian are halfway afraid of the devil, they live their lives trying to satisfy God without making the devil mad, well this is about as backward as you can get. I trust in God enough to know that if we were supposed to be in a battle with the devil then God would have given us instructions on how to fight him. But instead of telling us how to fight the devil we have been told how to fight the good fight of faith. (1Tim. 6:12) This means to fight to keep your faith from being polluted with all the contaminations of this world. This means we should get built up on the Word of God, through believing and stay built up. A Christian following Christ will not engage in a battle with the devil no more than Christ did. The Bible tells us that Jesus gave only a minute portion of His time to the devil. (Mat. 4:10 and Mat. 16: 23) The next question should be why. The answer is simply stated in the Bible that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil and give mankind his rightful place of being in God´s image. Jesus was too busy doing His Father´s work to be concern about a rebellious angel. Jesus was too busy-saving lives and raising men up to think about what the devil was doing. I believe people would be better off if they started treating the devil the same way Jesus did. The third question is, how. Again the Bible tells to be filled with the love of God. This means we should have so much love in our hearts for one another that we cannot hurt each other, but instead would be busy giving and building each other up. If we truly love one another we could not cheat and hurt others, and then say the devil made me do it. This Love would stop the devil dead in his track. If our hearts were filled with the Love of God, the devil would be out of a job. I find it very disturbing that Christians hear about a defeated foe in a sermon supposed to be about Love. The other day I watched a film from Nigeria that was made for Christians, by Christians, to show the power of God. Well it was horrible. The first forty minutes or more was about witch doctors, voodoo, murder, hate, and superstition, the last fifth teen minutes showed a group of Christian coming up against satin. To me this film promoted the devil and demoted Christ. It showed how Christians were being destroyed because they gave too much place to the devil. Looking at our society we see the same thing. Christian are struggling under the burden of guilt. I mean if Jesus said he came to destroy the works of the evil one. And I might add that He assured us that it was done before He left the earth, He also told us He had power over heaven and earth, and told us. His work was done. I believe Him. Jesus work of destroying the works of the evil one was finished before He left this earth: So why are we still saying satin is the ruler of this world? The devil was defeated once and for all, every since Jesus left the earth. The problem is that most people are too busy trying to tiptoe around the devil, out of fear, that they cannot hear the Spirit of God, which empowers us. Once man is renewed with the knowledge that you are in the IMAGE OF GOD, no longer will you be afraid. Once mankind realizes that it was God Himself, who gave us the dominion of this earth (GEN. 1:27-28) and He didn´t share our dominion with anyone else, he will know that the devil is a fallen angel (LK 10:18) stealing his time Remember there are some things we should not mention, according to the Bible, And the devil is one of them. We should not allow his name to be brought into our services. We mean, mankind created in the Image of God and LIVING in that Image. Should stop anything not of God by being examples of God´s Image. It is simply a matter of being what God intended a man to be, in His Likeness. Let us stop trying to live by the law, being punished by the law, and live in the Spirit of God. There, we find no battlefields and no punishments. No fallen angel would dare come against a child of God that is living in His Father´s Image. Take time now and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to where you are supposed to be. This time, do it from your heart, moving yourself out of the way and allowing your spirit to guide you, into the truth of God´s word. Get off the battlefield unless you are out there as David was, to pick up the spoils. David never once doubted whether he would kill Goliath, before he faced Goliath David said he would kill the giant. David remembered God was His Father, and nothing could keep him from showing the world he had fought the good fight of faith and not Goliath, he destroyed Goliath on that faith. |
