FAITH REVEALED

Let us start by finding out what is faith. For when we read Heb. 11:1, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen." It sounds very religious, but in reality very few have obtained to a level of understanding what is being said.

The scriptures are given so that we may understand. So here is a simplified version of what the Holy Spirit is revealing. Faith is to have belief, total confidence in the testimony of God’s Grace. Faith means you will stand like David when facing giants; knowing the battle is already fought and the victory is our. (Believers). David was on the battlefield so completely filled with the love of God, that fear had no chance to stop him.

Looking at the life of Abraham we find he was called the father of faith because he believed in God’s word so much, that even his own body, at ninety nine, could not stop him from believing he would have a son. And when Abraham was ask to give that son over to death , he willingly went up to sacrifice him, (Abraham was not trembling and shaken with fear), Abraham believed in God’s promise so much that Abraham never CONSIDERED his son being dead. Abraham, with dagger raised, was ready to kill Isaac, when the angel of God stopped him. Trust me, if Abraham was afraid of killing his son, Abraham would never have been on top of the mountain.

The life of these two great saints shows that there is more to faith than just saying you have faith. Their lives were filled with actions of faith. So we see that faith is alive, and is an active part of our spiritual walk Heb. 11:2 For by faith the men of old had divine testimony given to them. And also received a good report.

Now faith is simply knowing our Father and accepting His grace. When we fall in love with God, we will move away from forms and fashions of religious. Then our hearts will be open to the leadings of the Spirit. When we start hearing our heart, it will only be through faith. Only after we have given up all our ways of coming to God, and accept that God came to us, through His Son (Jesus Christ), will we be empowered to work in our faith. This faith is not our own but the faith of God, who wants us to know him and fellowship with Him.

Let it be clearly known that no man can obtain faith through his own good works, but faith comes by totaling depending on God. This means faith is a free gift and that faith is given to all mankind. This also means that faith can live within, but without belief, is inactive. For faith is a fruit of the Spirit. Gal. 5:22

God gave every man His own faith, so we are without excuse. Now if we are ignorant to God’s gift, it is not God’s fault. Eph. 2:8 says, faith is a free gift from God. Guys like Abraham, David, Joseph, and Jesus had no radios, televisions, mail, or computers, yet their faith was so strong that more than five thousand years later, we are still reading about them.

Remember faith means knowing God’s word (the Spirit of God words, not the letter), and accepting it as real. It means putting the same trust in God as a baby put in his mother. Rom. 10:9,10, tells us that faith comes from the heart. Let us hear the Spirit of God calling out for us to trust in Him by faith and stop trying to trust in God through your works. Just believe, you are His child and that He will never leave us and that He sent his only begotten Son so that we would know that God was, and is, our Father.
